    Major: Accounting

    Minor: Economics

    Hometown: New Orleans, LA

“My ‘why’ for NOVAdance is constantly changing and evolving, but first and foremost, I NOVAdance for the children with illnesses and their families that need support. I think that hero hour is one of the most powerful moments of the ‘day of’ and watching the families always makes me so grateful that Villanova has an organization to support them.

The last part of my why always stays the same: my older brother. When I was 5, he was diagnosed with a really rare life-threatening condition. Because of similar foundations to B+, my parents were able to be with him during treatment and focus on what truly mattered.”

  • Noah Kang

    Major: Finance & Real Estate

    Minor: Economics

    Hometown: Brentwood, TN

“I NOVAdance for my uncle and so that every family can focus on what matter most, each other. Childhood cancer is one of the saddest and most painful things this world has to offer. I am constantly reminded of the breadth of impact it has on people, but also the strength that it brings out in those affected.

In a battle with cancer no family should have to worry about anything besides their child’s health and well being. Their daily lives are filled with enough stress as is and I hope to be able to play even the smallest part in assisting these families who need it most.”

  • John Tropeano

    Major: Chemical Engineering

    Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

“I NOVAdance so that every child diagnosed with cancer knows that someone out there appreciates, loves, and cares about them. This world needs more love, and NOVAdance is one of the best ways to bring more love into the world.

After having such amazing opportunities to meet our B+ Hero’s I have been forever touched by their stories and strength. They inspire me each and every day.

I truly believe that to live like Andrew is a great honor that shouldn’t be taken lightly. We all need to walk in positivity for our B+ Heroes.”

  • Alex Sperling

    Major: Nursing

    Hometown: New York, NY

“Coming into Villanova my ‘why’ was simple, my why was my grandma, who had just passed after her five year long battle with lung cancer during my senior year of high school. However, over time I have found my why has evolved into more of a why not than anything else. Why not give all of myself that I can to the people out there who truly need it most?

So now I NOVAdance not only for my grandma, but for our 18+ Heroes, for all sick children to never feel alone, and for families to have as much peace of mind as we can provide during their hardest moments. I don’t know if I’ll ever really find the right words to fully encapsulate my why, but what I can say is I am beyond lucky to be a part of something so truly beautiful that makes such a difference in people’s lives. “

  • Olivia Winchenbaug

    Major: Weston MA

    Hometown: Finance & Business Law

“My 'why' for NOVAdance has constantly grown throughout the past 3 years. I have been beyond fortunate to be a part of this organization for my time here at Villanova because of the joy NOVAdance brings. Putting smiles on the faces of our amazing heroes and their wonderful families.

As I have gotten to know the families the B+ Foundation helps, my why strengthens. However, at the core of my why will always be my sister. Doctors found an neuroendocrine tumor in Lexi's abdomen after her appendix burst. While I can happily say she is in remisssion, I fight so that kids have the chance to say the same.

Every kid deserves the chance to be a kid. I NOVAdance so that no family or child stands alone and to continue spreading positivity, just like Andrew did!
